Mix of organic centaury (Centaurea cyanus), proposed by Gaia, a burst of colors and a resistant flowering

The mix of large centauries is ideal for bringing a rustic and colorful touch to the garden. It offers a range of flowers in purple, blue, pink and white hues, reminiscent of the texture of paper. These wild flowers, light and airy, are perfect for borders, flower meadows or floral compositions.

Very easy to grow, they thrive with little maintenance and are drought tolerant . They also attract many pollinators, contributing to a vibrant garden ecosystem. Once cut, they retain their freshness for a long time and can be dried for long-lasting bouquets.

Cultivation method

Sow directly in the ground in early spring or fall for earlier flowering the following year. They can also be started indoors 3 to 4 weeks before the last frost . The seeds require darkness to germinate well, so it is advisable to cover them lightly with fine soil.

Once seedlings are established, thin to 6 inches (15 cm) apart. Centauries appreciate well-drained soil and a sunny exposure. They need little watering and tolerate dry conditions well.

Harvesting and conservation

Harvest open flowers for fresh bouquets or allow them to dry on the stem for dried arrangements. Regularly cutting off spent flowers encourages prolonged blooming.
