Organic 'Alaska' nasturtium mix ( Tropaeolum majus ), offered by Gaia, marbled foliage and vibrant flowering
'Alaska' nasturtiums are a dwarf variety notable for their marbled green and cream foliage and bright flowers in shades of yellow, orange and dark red. They are distinguished by their compact habit , perfect for garden containers, hanging baskets or vegetable garden borders .
In addition to being aesthetic , they are useful in the garden : they attract pollinating and beneficial insects while helping to keep away certain pests thanks to their aromatic foliage. Their flowers and leaves are edible , bringing a peppery touch to salads and fresh dishes.

To speed up germination , soak the seeds in warm water for 24 hours before sowing. Scarifying the seeds (lightly scratching the shell) can also help.
