Cultivation method
For optimal germination, soak seeds in warm water for 12 hours before sowing.
Start seeds indoors 4 to 6 weeks before the last frost , then transplant to the garden once the danger of frost has passed. Space 12 to 18 inches apart to encourage abundant side shoot production.
'Happy Rich' broccoli prefers rich, well-drained soil , with regular but moderate watering.
Harvesting and conservation
Harvest the main heads when they are tight, before they start to flower. Then cut back the side shoots regularly to encourage continued production.
After harvesting, cool immediately and store in the refrigerator at 0°C to preserve freshness for 1 to 2 weeks.
