This tomato thrives in rich, well-drained soil , in full sun . Strong staking is recommended to support its vigorous growth and prevent the branches from bending under the weight of the fruit. Regular but moderate watering , as well as mulching at the base , help to conserve moisture and protect the roots.

Harvest begins after 75 to 85 days and continues until autumn under good growing conditions.

Use and special features

With its dense flesh and sweet taste , 'The Musketeers' is ideal for rich, creamy sauces, stews and homemade pizzas . Its low seed content and velvety texture make it a popular tomato for culinary preparations requiring thick, flavorful flesh.

  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Preparation :

Plunge tomatoes into boiling water for 1 to 2 minutes, then transfer to ice water to stop the cooking. Peel, seed and cut into chunks.

Stir in sugar, salt, pepper, basil, oregano and bay leaf. Reduce heat and simmer gently for 30 to 45 minutes, until sauce thickens. Remove bay leaf and stir in balsamic vinegar or red wine. Adjust seasoning as needed.
