Hot pepper 'Trinidad Moruga Scorpion Mustard' (Capsicum chinense), Offered by Les Gardiens - Ferme Alternative

Trinidad Moruga Scorpion Mustard is an exceptional variation of the legendary Red Scorpion , offering devastating heat exceeding 1,200,000 SHU . Less intense than the original, it remains fiery and explosive , with a fruity and floral flavor that makes it ideal for BBQ sauces, hot sauces, chili powders and marinades .

Its bumpy, aggressive-looking fruits ripen from green to a mustard-yellow hue , giving it a unique appearance among super-hots . Its progressive spiciness starts off mild before ramping up , developing a lingering burn that makes it a formidable pepper.

On the nose, it gives off floral and fruity notes , but its bite is hellish. To be used with caution , only by thrill seekers. It mixes very well with other ingredients to soften its acridity while retaining its power.

The plant, vigorous and very productive, reaches about 1.2 meters (4 feet) in height , providing a generous harvest throughout the season.

⚠️ Be careful not to consume it raw in large quantities. Its intensity is reserved for connoisseurs .

Plant Height: Up to 1.2 meters (4 feet)
Spread: Medium
Quantity per bag: ISOLATED - 12 seeds
Scoville (SHU): ± 1,200,000
Companion plants: Tomatoes, basil, coriander
Enemy plants: Fennel, beets

Cultivation method:

Sow seeds in early February , about 10 to 12 weeks before the last frost . Germination takes 10 to 20 days , but can be accelerated by soaking the seeds for 12 to 24 hours before sowing . Like all Capsicum chinense , it can take up to 6 weeks to germinate , so it is important to maintain a stable temperature of between 25 and 30°C .

When the seedlings reach 4 to 6 true leaves , transplant them into larger pots before acclimating them to the outdoors. Plant them in the ground or in a pot , in rich, well-drained soil , with full sun exposure .

Moderate watering , fertilization every 2 to 3 weeks and good drainage are essential for optimum production. Fruits reach their characteristic mustard yellow hue about 120 to 140 days after sowing .

Pot culture: ideal for extending the harvest

Trinidad Moruga Scorpion Mustard grows very well in pots , allowing it to be brought indoors in the fall and prolong production . A well-drained pot of at least 10 liters , a sunny exposure of 6 to 8 hours per day and regular fertilization will guarantee abundant production even in a restricted space .

Use and special features:

Its extreme heat and fruity and floral aromas make it a perfect pepper for hot sauces, powders and marinades . Its unique taste sets it apart from other super-hots , adding depth and intensity to dishes.

⚠️ Warning : This pepper is extremely potent . Wear gloves when handling and avoid contact with eyes and face.
