The red alpine strawberry is a unique perennial that is distinguished by its lack of runners, instead forming pretty, dense rosettes, perfect for growing in the ground or in pots. Its small, elongated red strawberries are incredibly sweet, fragrant and tasty. In addition, these productive plants offer a continuous harvest from spring until autumn. The fruits should be picked as soon as they reach a beautiful bright red colour, thus ensuring optimum taste.

Cultivation method:

Sow seeds indoors 8 to 10 weeks before the last frost. Lightly press the seeds into moist potting soil, but do not cover them, as they require light to germinate. Maintain a temperature of 65 to 72 degrees F (18 to 22 degrees C) and keep the soil moist throughout. Germination can take 14 to 30 days.

Once the plants are sufficiently developed, transplant them outdoors after all danger of frost, spacing them 8 to 10 inches (20 to 25 cm) apart. Plant them in rich, moist, well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade if moisture is difficult to maintain. Water regularly to keep the soil moist, as alpine strawberries are not drought tolerant.

A delicious and productive variety!

The red alpine strawberry is a must-have for gourmet gardeners. Easy to grow and offering a continuous harvest throughout the season, it will delight young and old with its sweet and fragrant fruits. Whether in a pot or in the ground, this elegant perennial will add a sweet and decorative touch to your landscaping.
