Description

Kuroda carrot ( Daucus carota ), offered by seed company Northern Wildflowers, is an heirloom variety prized for its sweetness and firm texture.

Suitable for vegetable gardens, this carrot matures in 90 to 100 days, producing thick, sweet roots that are perfect for salads, soups, stews and cooked dishes. Its thin leaves and white umbel flowers also add a decorative touch to the garden.

Growing Tips:

Sow directly into the ground as soon as the ground is workable in spring. Plant the seeds 1 cm deep and space the rows 30 cm apart. Keep the soil moist to encourage regular germination. Thin the plants to 10 cm to allow optimal root development. Harvest when the carrots reach their ideal size, to fully enjoy their sweetness and firmness.
