Cultivation method:

Evening primrose is an easy-to-grow, drought-tolerant native plant that does well in a range of soils. No pre-treatment is required. Sow seeds on the surface of the soil, taking care not to let the seedlings dry out as they establish. Once established, it flowers continuously from early summer to autumn, with lemon-scented yellow flowers opening in the evening and continuing into the late morning. Pollinated by moths and bees in the early morning, they are a valuable resource for local wildlife. In addition, the seeds are a source of food for birds.

An ideal plant for natural gardens, restored meadows, and for attracting beneficial wildlife.
