Cultivation method:
Sow seeds indoors 4 to 6 weeks before the last frost date, or directly outdoors when all danger of frost has passed. Seeds should be planted about 1 cm (1/2 inch) deep in well-drained soil. Maintain a temperature of 20 °C (68 °F) for optimal germination. Transplant seedlings outdoors once they are about 5 cm (2 inches) tall, spacing them 25 to 30 cm (10-12 inches) apart.
To ensure a continuous harvest, sow seeds every two weeks during the growing season. Water regularly to keep the soil moist, but avoid overwatering. Bok choy prefers cool temperatures and grows best in spring or fall. Protect young plants from intense sun and high heat, which can cause premature bolting.
Harvest young leaves for use as tender shoots, or wait until the plant reaches full maturity. Cut at the base to harvest the entire rosette, or harvest the outer leaves as you go.
Bok Choy 'Baby Pak Choi' is a great option for gardeners looking for a fast-growing, versatile vegetable that's ideal for a variety of fresh and cooked dishes.
