Cultivation method:

Sow directly into the open ground as soon as the soil can be worked in spring. Plant seeds about 1/8 inch (3 mm) deep in rows 18 inches (45 cm) apart. Maintain even moisture throughout the growing season to ensure good emergence and a successful harvest.

Thin plants to 12 to 14 inches apart once young shoots are about 3 inches (7 to 8 cm). Harvest leaves by cutting about 1 inch (2.5 cm) above the base, avoiding cutting the crown to allow new shoots to develop. This method extends the harvest period and ensures a continuous supply.

The chicory 'Barèse Puntarelle Galatina Tardiva' is ideal for adding a touch of authenticity to your dishes. Delicious in salads or lightly sautéed, it offers a complex flavor that will enhance your recipes. Its ease of cultivation and its ability to produce several harvests make it an excellent option for avid gardeners and amateur chefs.
