Cultivation method:

For direct sowing, wait until all danger of frost has passed. Sow seeds on the surface of the soil in a well-drained area, then press them down lightly without covering them with soil. Maintain a temperature of 20°C (70°F) for optimum germination, which usually occurs in 5 to 10 days.

For indoor sowing, start in early April. Press the seeds into the soil without covering them and place them in bright light. Once the seedlings are strong, gradually harden them off before transplanting them outdoors in late May.

Campanulas grow best in well-drained soils, in full sun in cool climates, or partial shade in areas with hot summers. Space plants 10 to 14 inches (25 to 35 cm) apart to allow good air circulation.

After the first bloom, prune the plants lightly to encourage a second flush of flowers.
