Organic 'Merlin' Beetroot Seeds, offered by Semences WH Perron

'Merlin' beet is an exceptional variety known for its mild flavor and high sugar content, reaching 12-15% more than standard varieties such as Red Ace. Its uniform, sweet and tender roots make it an ideal choice for gardeners looking for a tasty and productive vegetable. With its intermediate resistance to Cercospora and downy mildew, this organic and treated variety is perfectly adapted to a variety of growing conditions.

Plant height : 30 to 40 cm
Spread : 15 to 20 cm between plants, 30 to 40 cm between rows
Quantity per packet : Approximately 175 seeds
Maturity : 55 days
Tolerances : Intermediate resistance to cercospora and downy mildew

Cultivation method :

Sow directly into the ground when the soil temperature reaches 10°C. Plant the seeds 1 cm deep, with a spacing of 5 cm in the row and 30 to 40 cm between rows. Germination occurs in 7 to 15 days. Once the plants are established, thin them to 10 cm to encourage good root development.

'Merlin' beet prefers loose, well-drained soil that is rich in organic matter and slightly acidic to neutral (pH between 6.0 and 7.0). Maintain consistent moisture to prevent roots from becoming fibrous and rotate crops to prevent disease.

Harvest the roots when they are between 5 and 8 cm in diameter to enjoy their tenderness and optimal flavor. Ideal for salads, cooked dishes or preserves, the 'Merlin' beetroot is distinguished by its natural sweetness and exceptional quality.

Add 'Merlin' beetroot to your vegetable garden for sweet, hardy and productive crops, perfect for discerning gardeners.
