‘Zeolight’ Calendula Seeds – Open Pollinated – Annual Type – Heirloom – Certified Organic by Ecocert Canada

Double flowers. The undersides of the petals are brown and the uppersides a pastel color of sherbet orange and pink, washing into yellow at the base of the petals. Cultivated in the Pacific Northwest of the USA. Calendula petals are edible, but the base of the flower must be removed before eating. The calendula goes well in patio pots, blooms all summer.

Far from: Sage, Potato.
Planting tip: Soak in warm water for up to 12H to improve germination. Sow indoors 3-4 weeks before planting or direct sow in early spring. Pinch back young plants to encourage bushy growth. Keep plants watered, but try to avoid overhead watering as they’re susceptible to mildew. Pinch plant at 9” height for vigorous growth. For a longer bloom period, deadhead spent flowers.
Harvesting tip: Harvest in morning after dew has dried, when blossoms are half-open.
