Ecoumene / Chioggia beet / Biennial / Organic vegetable seeds

Once known as Barbabietola de Bassano, this unique beet became Barbabietola de Chioggia or beet from Chioggia, an Italian town south of Venice. It is said that the original Bassano, introduced in 1841, was flatter at the top and had a less pronounced red skin. This heritage seed was enhanced by Washington State seed company Alf Christianson Seed Company to accentuate its unique characteristics.
