Chinese chives are a perennial bulbous plant in zone 3 that grow up to 75 cm high. Its pale green, narrow and almost flat leaves flavor and decorate raw vegetable salads, sauces, stews, vinaigrettes and omelettes. It is added at the end, because long cooking destroys the flavor. The seeds and flowers are also edible.
