Very fragrant plant that grows wild in the Balkans, mainly in the Dinaric Alps, from northeastern Italy to Albania. In hot weather, the plant can be smelled from afar due to its strong aroma. Since the dawn of time, it has been used for its powerful antibacterial and antifungal qualities in herbal tea and as a condiment in cooking. It attracts pollinators with the profusion of its astonishing white or pale pink flowers.

Companion plants: brassicas, yarrow, potato, petunia, tomato, squash, eggplant, sweet pepper, lettuce.
Away from: Chamomile, parsley, garlic, onion.
Seeding: Sow indoors 6-8 weeks. before planting outdoors in early spring. Pinch the upper leaves regularly from the seedling stage to get a bushier, healthier plant. Transplant outdoors when the plant has reached a height of 3-4″. For best health, water deeply for a healthy root system.
Harvest: Pick often for greater production. The leaves can be harvested from the first year.
