Algonquian Pumpkin Seeds – Annual type – Organic Vegetable Seeds

This heritage pumpkin variety is believed to have grown in the northeast of the American continent on First Nations territories. It most likely grew in Quebec given the presence of the Algonquin people in the province. A little smaller than the ‘Long Pie’ variety, it produces a long green fruit that turns golden orange when ripe. Picking can be done as soon as the portion of the fruit that touches the ground begins to change color; ripening continues long after picking. This is one of the best pumpkins for making mash and pies.
