Description

The Sweet Siberian Melon from Jardins de l'Écoumène (Cucumis melo) is an old and highly prized variety, known for its earliness and particularly sweet fruits. Originally from Siberia, this melon was introduced to North America for its ability to ripen quickly, even in cooler climates.

Spread: 1-2 meters
Plant height: 30-50 cm
Quantity per pack: Approximately 25 seeds
Companion plants: Corn, beans, sunflower
Enemy plants: Squash, potatoes

The fruits are oblong, measuring between 15 and 20 cm in length, and have a dark green skin that turns orange when ripe. The flesh is a beautiful orange, very juicy and smooth, with an almost creamy texture. Its taste is tropical, with subtle notes of vanilla, banana and pineapple, making it perfect for fruit salads and desserts.

Melon 'Sweet Siberian' is suitable for cooler climates due to its precocity, producing fruit in just 80-90 days. It prefers well-drained soil and a sunny location, and is resistant to periods of drought.

This melon is ideal for home gardeners looking for a productive and tasty variety, even in regions with shorter growing seasons.
