Sweet pepper 'Fresh Bite' mix (Capsicum annuum) – proposed by the Seed Company WH Perron
The 'Fresh Bite' mixed sweet pepper is a compact variety that produces small, sweet fruits that are perfect as a snack or to add a crunch to salads. This small plant is ideal for windowsills, kitchen counters or tabletop containers. Its fast growth and generous yield make it a great option for gardeners looking to enjoy a bountiful harvest in limited space, whether indoors or out.
Spread : 20 to 30 cm
Plant height : 30 to 40 cm
Quantity per packet : 10 seeds
Companion plants : Basil, carrot, onion, marjoram, oregano
Enemy plants : Kohlrabi, chives, fennel, okra, tomato
Cultivation method:
Sow 'Fresh Bite' mixed sweet pepper seeds indoors, 6 to 8 weeks before the last frost, in a light, well-drained potting soil. Maintain a temperature of 68 to 75°F (20 to 24°C) using a heat mat for rapid and even germination. When the seedlings have two pairs of true leaves, transplant them into individual pots.
Transplant seedlings into pots or into the garden after the last frost, when nighttime temperatures are above 54°F (12°C). Place in a full sun location and water regularly to maintain consistent moisture. Fertilize once a month with a high-potassium fertilizer to encourage abundant blooms and generous harvests.
Harvest peppers about 55 days after transplanting, when they reach their optimum size and colour. Perfect for snacking or incorporating into your dishes, 'Fresh Bite' peppers add sweetness, crunch and convenience to your garden.
