Cultivation method:
Start seedlings indoors between mid-February and late March in a soilless growing mix. Sow seeds 1/4" (6 mm) deep and maintain a constant temperature of 70°F (21°C) for optimum germination. Grow seedlings in bright light at temperatures of 60-70°F (16-21°C) to produce stocky, vigorous plants.
After hardening off, transplant plants outdoors in late May to early June in well-drained soil with full sun. Space plants 12" (30 cm) apart in rows 24" (60 cm) apart. Avoid high-nitrogen fertilizers to encourage fruit production. Staking is recommended to support plants, especially when fruits reach full size. Harvest peppers at different stages of maturity for flavor variation.
