Cultivation method:

Direct sow seeds in well-drained soil from mid-spring, once the ground is workable. Plant seeds 1/2 to 3/4 inch (1 to 2 cm) deep and space them 1 inch (2.5 cm) apart in rows 18 inches (45 cm) apart. For a continuous harvest, repeat sowing every two weeks until early summer.

Gradually thin the seedlings to 4 inches (10 cm) apart, harvesting the smaller leaves as baby greens. Harvest the outer leaves by cutting them off at the base of the stem, leaving the center leaves for continued regrowth.

This Swiss chard prefers well-drained soil with an ideal pH of 6.5 to 7.5. Maintain regular moisture by watering frequently, especially during dry periods, to promote optimal growth and a bountiful harvest.
