Sow seeds indoors 6 to 8 weeks before the last expected spring frost date. Maintain a temperature of 70 to 75°F (21 to 24°C) to promote rapid germination.
When seedlings reach 4 cm (1.75"), transplant them into individual pots and reduce the temperature to 15 to 18°C (59 to 65°F). After hardening off, transplant them into well-drained organic soil, spacing the plants 90 cm (36") apart for this indeterminate variety.
Water the soil directly to prevent disease and apply straw mulch to conserve moisture. Ensure consistent watering to prevent fruit cracking or blossom end rot. Rotate crops annually to reduce disease risk.
