The dwarf pea 'Sweet Utrillo' is a very productive and incredibly sweet heirloom variety, perfect for both home and professional gardeners. This vigorous but compact plant grows to a height of 70-80 cm (15-18 inches) and produces uniform dark green pods measuring 12-13 cm (5-5 inches) long. Each pod contains 10 peas, souvenir in thick double pods, providing a generous and regular harvest. This pea is ideal for growing on supports or directed in the ground.

Cultivation method:
Sow seeds in direct soil from mid-April to mid-May when soil temperatures are between 10 and 16°C (50-60°F). Fall plantings are possible in hardiness zones 6 and 7. Sow in double rows 25 cm (10") apart, with seeds 6.5 cm (2.5") apart, and buried to a depth of 1.25 to 2.5 cm (1/2 to 1").
You can also sow in 120cm (48") square blocks, spacing the seeds 6.5cm (2.5") apart. To prolong harvests, sow successively every 10 to 14 days. Keep the soil evenly moist during germination to ensure even emergence.
Although this variation is compact, staking or light support is recommended to aid harvesting. Once flowering has begun, water regularly to encourage pod formation. Harvest daily at maturity for optimum preservation and encourage continued production.
