Sow seeds indoors in March-April in a warm, bright location. Seedlings will appear within a week. Harden off seedlings before transplanting outdoors in late May, after the risk of frost has passed. Choose a rich, well-drained, slightly moist soil, amended with compost to maximize production.
Harvest leaves regularly, starting with the bottom to encourage branching. Pinch the ends of the stems in July to prevent flowering and prolong production. Harvest between July and August and store the leaves frozen or dried for extended use in cooking.
Add organic 'Rosie' basil to your vegetable garden or indoor garden for a tasty and aesthetically pleasing harvest, ideal for enriching your dishes all year round.
