The poppy, also known as Papaver rhoeas, is a strikingly beautiful wildflower that can be easily grown in your own garden. Here is some information about its growth and maintenance:

The poppy is an annual herbaceous plant that can reach a height of around 60 centimeters. It is characterized by its thin, fluffy stems as well as its blue-green leaves.
Poppy flowers consist of four vibrant red petals and a distinctive black center. Their shape is reminiscent of a dome and they generally reach around 10 centimeters in diameter.
To properly plant the poppy, choose a suitable location in your garden. It prefers well-drained, slightly alkaline soils. Be sure to prepare the soil by mixing in organic compost or sand to improve drainage.
The poppy needs sunny exposure to grow properly. Plant it in a location where it will receive at least six hours of full sun per day.
The ideal time to sow poppy seeds is in spring or fall, when temperatures are cooler. Before sowing the seeds, you can soak them in warm water for a few hours to encourage germination.
The poppy generally flowers from May to July, but this may vary depending on your climate and local conditions. The flowers remain in full bloom for about two weeks before fading and producing seed capsules.
