Natural, untreated and GMO-free seeds. Open pollinated seeds. Particularly prolific variety that has a delicious mild and sweet flavor.
Do not sow too early, as cold-sown plants tend to flower prematurely (bolting).
To harvest young salad leaves, sow successively between early spring and mid-summer, every 2-3 weeks in soil or large containers.
PLANT: Harden off seedlings grown indoors by gradually acclimating them to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days. Plant them at 12 in (30 cm) intervals in rows 15 to 18 in (38 to 45 cm) apart if you want to harvest broad leaves, or at 2 in (5 cm) intervals in rows spaced 8 in (20 cm) if your goal is to pick young leaves.
WATER: Plants develop deep roots and can survive long periods of drought without watering. However, they will produce more leaves with thorough watering each week during the summer to keep the soil moist. Plants grown in containers need regular watering.
