Ecoumene / Oka muskmelon / Annual Type / Organic Seeds

In 1893, four Trappist fathers settled in the parish of Oka in Quebec. It was from a cross between the famous muskmelon of Montreal (Cucumis melo “Montreal”) and the old American cultivar Banana (Cucumis melo “Banana”) that the Trappist father Athanase obtained the “Oka” melon. This early variety can be grown in most regions of Quebec. Its thick flesh with excellent flavor has a beautiful orange color.
