This very old variety is native to France and is mentioned in the work of Vilmorin-Andrieux published in 1885. It is also illustrated in “Drawings of Fruits” by Mrs Hooker (1817) under the name ‘Early Black Rock’. It produces very pretty fruits whose smooth peel changes from green-black to orange when ripe. These 1 to 1.5 kg fruits have a sweet and fragrant, orange flesh, which is absolutely delicious! Very good earliness and good adaptation to drought.
