Gaia / Cucumber ‘Painted Serpent’ / Certified Organic by Ecocert Canada / Annual

Serpent Painted Cucumber Seeds – Open Pollinated – Annual type – Heirloom – Certified Organic by Ecocert Canada.

Also known as snake melon, native to Armenia and brought to Italy in the 15th century. William Woys Weaver said: “It is one of the oldest of our heritages, but one of the most neglected by our gardeners”, often demonstrated but rarely tasted. Yet its flavor surpasses that of other cucumbers, excellent in salads and stir-fries without bitterness or burping. The thin, flexible, slightly downy fruits delicately coil like a snake with alternating light and dark green stripes.
