Caper Flower Herb – untreated, non-GMO seeds

Bushy plant native to the Mediterranean which can reach a height of 100cm. It is a robust plant, it can adapt to poor soil conditions. Resists very high temperatures and drought thanks to its deep root system. In spring and summer it produces many fragrant pink and white flowers. Their popular flower buds are left to marinate and are then used in cooking.

Sow seeds directly outdoors in a sunny site with average soil from mid to late May. Plant seeds 3 mm (1/8 in) deep and 2.5 cm (1 in) apart. Thin seedlings to 30 cm (12 in) intervals. Seeds can also be started indoors in a soilless medium 4 to 6 weeks before the last frost date. Maintain the temperature at 70°F (20°C) for the 7-10 day germination period, then grow at a slightly cooler temperature before hardening off and planting out once danger of frost has passed.
