The ‘Savignac’ tomato was discovered by a grower from the Joliette region named Dufresne in the 1930s. Subsequently, it was perfected by Father Armand Savignac des Clercs de Saint-Viateur who wanted to improve its productivity. and resistance to cold. Thanks to the work of the cleric Savignac, this pink tomato with a round shape and smooth skin is very well adapted to cool climates and short growing seasons. It has gained an excellent reputation for its exceptional flavor and good disease resistance. The vigorous, indeterminate plants grow up to 2.5 m high and produce tomatoes measuring almost 10 cm in diameter and weighing between 180 and 350 grams.
